All
players have to start the game with four cards faced down.
In
the center of the table, players get to share five Community
cards. To start with, you have to use two of the four cards faced
down in a combination with three community cards to form your
complete hand.
For you to qualify for the Low half of the pot,
you have to form a five card hand with different values from
Ace through eight (Ace being the lowest) .The winning Low hand
goes to the player with the lowest high card.
A small blind and
a big blind bet is placed in the pot by the two players who are
sitting to the immediate left of the dealer.
The game starts.
The player to the left of the big blind has three options now:
folding, calling, or raising. This is the first round of betting
and play continues till every player either folds, calls or raises.
In
the second round of betting, three cards are dealt face-up in
the center of the table (Flop). From now one for all the other
rounds of betting, the player sitting on the left of the dealer
is the first one to play. If there is no betting in front of
them, a player may now check or bet only. But if there is betting
and/or raising, they may either call, raise, or fold.
After the ‘flop'
action, another card is dealt face-up (Turn). And the third betting
round begins. Moreover, in this round, the size of the bet doubles.
Again, the betting commences with the player on the left of the
dealer.
Once this is over, the dealer flips the final community
card over (River). This is the final round of betting.
After the
completion of the final round, the best hand automatically wins
half the pot.
To win the Low side of the pot, however, you must
qualify
However, when you are qualifying for Low, straights and
flushes don't count against you.
All players are allowed to use
different cards in their hands for the High and Low side. Even
the same cards for both the High and Low sides can be used.
In
case of a tie between two or more players, they will split that
half equally.
