Record turn-out for
Bicycle Casino's Legends of Poker event

As with the growing popularity of
online poker rooms, the ever
-increasing
availability of poker tournaments is stacking-up. The
World Poker Tour is continuing to bring in the crowds of
poker player to its events. This year's WPT Legends of
Poker tournament is proof, too.
With a
record breaking 839 players turning out this past
weekend at the Bicycle Casino in So. California, it
seems the poker craze is still full steam ahead. With
that amount of players, the prize-pool stands at
$4,195,000. The poker event stands as the largest ever
on the WPT circuit. With fourteen events still on the
calendar for the WPT's Season IV, potential growth is
eminent.
First place
for this year's Legends of Poker will net $1,125,000 for
the lucky winner. In 2004, Doyle Brunson won the event.
It attracted 667 players and a $3,335,000 prize pool.
This year's turn-out shows a 20%
growth in the amount of poker players.
As of today, the leaders are Gabe Kaplan, Barry
Greenstein
and Jerry Buss. The poker game
