World's largest online poker tournament coming next month

Lately, it seems like online poker players are hearing almost daily about some new star-studded poker tourney in Vegas or LA. Next month, one of the World's biggest poker tournaments will begin online. Yes an online-poker tournament for major cash - millions. Players from around the globe will find themselves playing against fierce competition for a shot at $8 million or more.

Based in Costa Rica, online poker room PokerStars.com will be the host of the big poker event. This will be the 4th installment of this tourney, but the one with the biggest prize to date.

The poker tourney, which will have fifteen different poker events including a final tournament of no-limit Texas Hold 'em, will most likely attract well over 10,000 online poker lovers. Beginning September 4, and running through September 18, the prize pool for the final event begins at $2.5 million.

The number of players competing in the final event of last year's World Championship of Online Poker was second only to the World Series of Poker.

There will be many players from the WSOP joining the online event, too.
