The idea is to feature pros in order to attract a larger audienece. Players must qualify for their PPT card based on a point system that takes into account previous performances. TV viewers can expect to see such names as Gus Hansen, Carlos Mortensen, Doyle Brunson, Annie Duke, Daniel Negreanu, Bobby Baldwin, Johnny Chan, Phil Hellmuth, Tom McEvoy, Men Nguyen, Phil Ivey, Jennifer Harman, David Ulliott, Mel Judah, Erick Lindgren, Huck Seed, Carlos Mortensen, Chris Moneymaker, Phil Laak and more.

The game will stay the same, but the shows on TV will be totally different from the WPT. The PPT has a differen crew hosting, including Mark Seif, who won two gold bracelets at the 2005 WSOP not to long ago. The PPT shows focus not just on the Final Table, but also highlights in the preliminary rounds

The PPT will be offered to the global market in time to debut the new shows in early 2006.
