This morning, International Game Technology (IGT)
gave an update regarding its situation in the Gulf
area that was affected by the hurricane.
The
company is pleased to announce that it has been in
touch with all one hundred employees and none have
been seriously injured, though many have no home or
belongings.
IGT has allotted $1 million to
help with relief efforts for its casino employees,
customers and the communities that have suffered
from the hurricane in the Gulf area. The company has
also established an IGT Employee Relief Program to
help its affected employees. IGT will provide
unlimited matching dollars to employees who
contribute to the Relief Program or the American Red
Cross, too.
At the time of the disaster,
IGT had about 600 machines pending sale and delivery
by the end of this month, to casinos directly
impacted. In addition, IGT planned the sale 1,000 to
2,000 additional machines during the next year.2006,
which are now on indefinite hold pending the
reopening of.
The company has business
interruption and property damage insurance policies,
which are subject to policy deductibles, but they
are just pleased that they can contribute to others
in need.
IGT remains committed to
working with its employees, customers and local
officials in the reconstruction efforts and will do
everything reasonably possible with-in its control
to support these efforts during the coming months.
